"Tyneham has beautiful views of the ocean, with really great walks. My ancestors lived in Tyneham, in the Sticklands cottage, so we visit regularly. It is amazing to see how well preserved the village has been, you can truly capture the history of the village and the coast." --Melanie J.
"Was a favourite place to visit on weekends and fish from, we now live in New Zealand but back this Christmas for a visit, will definitely be trying to get down there and re-live memories. Should be rebuilt and lived in again, as a village should be, should be given back to the people of Dorset." --Nigel B.
"Have visited Tyneham many times and never tire of it. Took my children when they were small and they too visit Tyneham every time they are in the area and take their children." --Pam W.
"Tyneham is a lovely place to go if you like the old places and walks... lovely walks down to the beach and so relaxing it's worth a vist if you are down this way." --Shass D.
"Tyneham is a lovely place, it would be a shame to see it commercialized, every time we visit Dorset, Tyneham is our favourite place to go..." --Tracy D.
"This was our first visit (upon recommendation) and we found it very interesting. The information and the many old photographs are beautifully presented and nicely understated. It is social history come to life and you could easily imagine what life was like there before 1943. It is also so sad that these folk had their homes taken from them in the belief that they would be able to return." --Graham
"Lovely place with beautiful surounding countryside, sea and eerie silence, but why are we not allowed to see the remains of Tyneham Manor House when almost everything else is accessable? Come on, open everything up to the public." --Jim C.
"It was very though provoking and I found myself holding back tears. You could almost hear the people and children from the past, especially in school and church. Well worth the visit." --Linda M.
"Tyneham was a beatiful place to visit, a step back in time. A place full of history. It was lovely to read about the history of the village and see it as it was then." --Claire W.
"Visit there when we can... ambience and great views of the bay... fishing also... caught a fish there once! One of my favourite places in Dorset" --Tony A
"A tragic place. Shows that one thing is forever constant - you can't trust the government! Whatever they take - they keep!" --David B.
"I could not understand why I was being taken to the uninhabited village by friends who live in Dorchester - a view which soon changed - I found the school children's essays of the time so lovely, the church and museum so interesting, but have not been able to stop thinking about how awful it must have been for the villagers not being allowed to go home. It is such a sad story." --Jenny R.
"I have the privilege of having ancestors that came from there. The Millers were my ancestors. I want the memory to go on forever and for other to see what a beautiful place it is." --Sheldron W.
"I had the great joy of visiting the village September 2010. It's a very strange feeling to stand were 'nobody' has stood for 60 odd years. All my party of four feel that it should be looked after... but not improved... (ie. no cafe etc., just toilets.) It's somewhere we should take young people to show how simple life was within the last 60-70 years..." --Colin W.
